The Roaring Northerners are Dave Stewart, John Hill and Iain Robertson; a loose affiliation of tabletop wargamers and figure painters who inhabit the frozen and somewhat soggy wastelands of west central Scotland. Shadowy and secretive, they stoically quest to reduce the scale of the lead mountain that threatens to engulf them all, and perhaps even find the time for the occasional game...

Kirriemuir Wargames Show 09/11/13 TARGE

As always Kirriemuir was worth the trip.
Here are a few pics from the day.

Firstly a participation game based on the WWII Bruneval Raid, by Old Meldrum WGC. Nicely done and all participants seemed to enjoy the chance to wear red berets!

Next, Dunfermline WGC's Battle of the Metaurus. Small but beautifully formed.

A 28mm late WWI game again very nicely presented.

RAF Leuchars' participation game 'Divine Wind'. As ever presented with bags of enthusiasm getting plenty of involvement, and superbly put together.

Gourock Wargames Association presented a What if German Invasion of Southern England 1940, 15mm. Lots of lovely scenery.

Main Hall.

Dead Man's Hand. Wild West in 28mm from Angus Wargames Club.

A good day out, and for once I did not arrive home with large quantities of unpainted lead, much to Mrs Stewart's relief!

  1. So...by that logic, we can look forward to either tricorne hats or gaffa-taping feathers to our heads if we ever get round to putting on a M&T demo game...?
